May's Thai Restaurant respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
May's Thai Restaurant, 4 Childwall Abbey Road, Liverpool L16 0JN, is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, email enquiries@maysthairestaurant.co.uk or call 0151 245 6868.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number and the details you give us, such as the type of enquiry, number of guests, preferred date and your message. If you email or phone us directly, we keep the details you give us in that conversation.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website, and we don't build profiles of visitors.
Why we use it
We use your details only to reply to your enquiry and to arrange your booking, private hire or event. Our lawful basis is that you have asked us to do something for you before entering into an agreement with us, and our legitimate interest in answering the questions people send us.
We will never sell your details or use them for marketing unless you have asked us to.
Who we share it with
- Netlify hosts this website and processes contact form submissions on our behalf. Like most web hosts, it also keeps short-term technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the site secure. Netlify may store data in the United States under approved safeguards for international transfers.
- Our email provider, which stores the enquiry emails we receive.
- Favourite Table handles online table bookings. When you book through their site, your booking is covered by Favourite Table's own privacy policy.
We only share information where it is needed to run the restaurant, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request, and for no longer than 12 months after our last contact with you, unless we need to keep them longer for legal or accounting reasons (for example, a deposit for a private event).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
To use any of these rights, email enquiries@maysthairestaurant.co.uk. We will reply within one month, and there is no charge.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies, and our fonts are hosted on our own site, so no information is sent to third parties when you browse it.
The only exception is the map on our home page. It doesn't load until you choose Show map. Once you do, it is provided by Google, which may set cookies and collect technical data under Google's privacy policy. Links to Instagram and Favourite Table take you to their own sites, which have their own cookie policies.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
